Turn A Slow Computer Into A Speedy One

It doesn’t take long for a brand new computer to start showing signs of aging. I’m not talking about the pace at which technology develops. I’m talking about how long it takes for a speedy new computer to turn into a slow computer. A computer can slow down for lots of reasons, but a little maintenance can go a long way toward reclaiming your computer and speeding it right back up.

Lots Of Downloads Can Mean Slow Performance

If you download a lot of files, your disk can become fragmented quickly. The constant writing and re-writing of files can take up a lot of room on your hard drive and cause your computer to write files in many different places on the computer. When a fragmented file is written, the disk drive has to search and move in order to find all the pieces, That can cause the disk to slow down, and, believe it or not, the disk drive is actually one of the slowest parts of your computer. Defragment your hard disk regularly to keep it in good shape.

Another thing that can slow your computer down is the size of your operating system. The more features you load into it, the bigger it is and the slower your computer will operate. Minimize fonts, applications that load at startup, language support and network functions you don’t need. These things are notorious for taking up space on the disk and room in your computer’s internal memory. The smaller and cleaner your system is, the faster it will load and operate.

Viruses and spyware abound and can cause all kinds of unexpected behavior in your computer. Make sure you have an excellent anti-virus program running on your computer at all times. Don’t be tempted to turn it off, even for a moment, especially if you do a lot of surfing or downloading of files. You can certainly get viruses and rogue programs from emails, but you can also pick up nasty infections from rogue or hijacked Web sites, clickable advertising and infected applications.

Clean Your Registry

Finally, your registry can accumulate a lot of bits of computer code you don’t need. The code that resides in your registry, whether you need it or not, gets loaded every time the computer runs. By using a registry cleaner like RegCure, you can remove pieces of computer code that get left behind when you remove programs.

Each time you use RegCure, the program backs up your registry before it makes any changes. You can always revert to the registry’s most recent state if you don’t like the way your computer works once RegCure is done. That’s not likely to happen though! RegCure is used by millions of people around the world who wouldn’t trust anything else to keep their computers running fast. Turn your slow computer into a speedy one with RegCure!
